Install Options
In order to create the cluster, the Cluster Setup Wizard asks you for general information about how you want to configure it. You must provide the FQDN of each of your hosts. The wizard also needs access to the private key file that you created when setting up passwordless SSH. Using hostnames and key file information, the wizard can securely locate, access, and interact with all hosts in the cluster.

Target Hosts
, enter your list of hostnames, one per line. You can use ranges in parentheses to indicate larger sets of hosts. For example, forhost01.mycluster.clemlab.local
tohost10.mycluster.clemlab.local

. - If you want to let Ambari automatically install the Ambari agent on all your hosts using SSH, select
Provide your SSH Private Key
and use theChoose File
button in theHost Registration Information
section to find the private key file that corresponds to the public key you installed. earlier on all your hosts or manually cut and paste the key into the text box. - Enter the username for the SSH key you selected. If you do not want to use
root
, you must provide the username of an account that can runsudo
without entering a password. If SSH on the hosts in your environment is configured for a port other than 22, you can change that too. - If you do not want Ambari to automatically install Ambari agents, select
Perform manual registration
. - Choose
Register and Confirm
